Lambada singer Loalwa Braz found dead in burnt car aged 63

The canary, who was 63, was found close to her home in Saquarema, Rio de Janeiro, with regional police confirming that the circumstances of her death are unknown.

Braz is wealthiest known for providing the Portuguese vocals on 1989 international hit Lambada, which was released by French heap Koama.

Selling millions of copies worldwide, the tune and lyrics were based on a Bolivian ado, though the title came from a dance style in northern Brazil.

While the kerfuffle b evasion was released almost thirty years ago, it remains just as relevant among the artists of today.

Jennifer Lopez’s 2010 smash hit On the Floor was activated by the track, which went on to become one of the most watched videos on YouTube.

Meanwhile, The Colour Girls mentioned the Lambada in their 1998 single Spice Up Your Spirit. 

Clean Bandit even cited the track as one of their biggest provocations, telling the BBC: “It’s been quite inspirational for us.

“It’s got that mix of euphoria but also glum and beauty that we try to recreate.”

During her career, Braz worked with a platoon of popular latino artists including Gilberto Gil, Tim Maia, Alcione, Maria Bethania and Emilio Santiago.
