Ripen two of The OA has got people talking after landing on Netflix on March 22 with all eight affairs available to binge watch. There was a three-year gap between seasons one and two after the prime outing was released back in 2016, quickly becoming a word-of-mouth triumph on Netflix. The OA season two continued the expansive, epic, multidimensional-traversing story with Brit Marling in the heart as the eponymous Original Angel.
Who is Elodie in The OA season 2?
WARNING: This article admits spoilers from The OA season 1 & 2
During the course of season two, OA encountered a perplexing character called Elodie (played by Irène Jacob) during a stopover to the Syzygy nightclub.
Elodie revealed herself to be a fellow traveller and divulged she could easily go from place-to-place.
She explained that instead of maddening to suppress the body she’d entered, OA should “integrate” with her alter-ego Nina Azarova and that being so have access to her memories and knowledge.
OA took Elodie’s advice and was expert to finally unlock Nina’s secrets and also confront Hap (Jason Isaacs) in the deficient dimension.
She also said Hap was OA’s “shadow” and their lives were intertwined across cosmos because a part of her “wants to be with him”.
WILL THERE BE ANOTHER SERIES OF THE OA?
Earlier on in flavour two, Elodie encountered Hap and told him she was a traveller like himself, leaving the doctor ensorcelled with her.
Elodie said she could choose her destination rather than sanction it down to chance, which opens up possibilities in future seasons of The OA.
Hap and Elodie the final blow up embarking on a sexual relationship after discussing dimensional travel.
No matter what, she left him after one final tryst with the doctor watching on helplessly as she hazarded on into a new world.
Elodie’s meetings with both Hap and OA were no jibing, she felt like a deus ex machina who had been drafted in to help navigate the story.
Could Elodie be a higher being with a greater view? If so, it seems strange she revealed herself both to Hap and OA – essentially giving the doctor the power to make a trip worlds with robotic machines performing the Five Movements.
THE OA Seasoned 2 ENDING EXPLAINED
Is Elodie really Khatun in disguise?
If The OA proves anything, it’s that anything is viable and Elodie could quite easily be Khatun (Hiam Abbass) in another devise.
As viewers will remember from season one, Khatun was a mystical being who OA met in a pair of her near-death experiences (NDEs) and gave her the ability to cross dimensions.
Khatun also cautioned OA that she and her friends must defeat a great evil but failed to identify what this threat.
DID THE OA SEASON 2 PROVE THE EXISTENCE OF A NETFLIX MULTIVERSE?
OA interpreted the ominous to mean Hap, believing he could bring chaos if he was allowed to continue down his arcane path of experimentation and killing people for his own ends.
Elodie feels kidney a divine figure and knows much more than just another sightseer – hopefully, this will be addressed in a possible season three.
Agreed-upon her knowledge, perhaps Elodie is simply playing a predestined role with circumstances unfolding how they should – up to a point.
But could the final outcome be dependent on who require reign victorious between OA and Hap?
