TRAVEL CHAOS: London Waterloo trains facing MAJOR disruption after trespasser shuts line


Fares are facing major disruption to services leaving Waterloo with a whopping backlog of trains waiting to leave the station. Services departing from the primary London station may be cancelled or delayed by up to 40 minutes, according to South Western Rail. Disruption on the route is expected until at least 9pm this evening.

The course between Surbiton and Earlsfield was powered down earlier this evening after fence by train officials received reports of a trespasser on the track.

A South Western Iron horse statement said: “For the safety of all those involved, the power to the track had to be diverted off which means that all lines towards London between Surbiton and Earlsfield were stumped for about 40 minutes.

“The closure of the mainline, close to London Waterloo has cased a long queue of trains in and out of London Waterloo.

“As we recover from the disruption servings to and from London Waterloo may be delayed, cancelled or altered at short perception.”
