State pension age? Some people could get £140 off their bills – who’s eligible?


In purchase order to qualify for Pension Credit, a person must live in England, Scotland or Wales, and they or their spouse must have reached state pension age.

The rules to Pension Acknowledgement eligibility changed on May 15, 2019, meaning those in a couple will only be eligible to start getting Pension Credit if both partners take reached stat pension age, and one of them is getting Housing Benefit for people at an end state pension age.

In June last year, the Department for Work and Superannuates (DWP) said that overall there is a 60 percent take-up of Old-age pension Credit.

The department also said that more than a million people entitled are not yet demanding the benefit.
