Sherrie Hewson and Are You Being Served? co-stars continue filming ahead of new specials


The side, which also includes Jason Watkins and Matt Horne, beamed for cameras as they hit the studio for another day in front of the camera.

Roy Barraclough, Arthur Smith and Kayode Ewumi were also bitted by photographers, who had less luck catching John Challis and Jorgie Attendant.

Watkins is playing Mr Humphries in the one-off special; a role made legendary by John Inman, who died in 2007.

Hewson, renowned for working on Coronation Drive, Benidorm and Loose Women, takes over from the late Mollie Sugden as Mrs Slocombe, while Horne and Door-keeper play a ir of brand new characters.

65-year-old Hewson previously raked the Daily Mirror of her audition: “I’d never been so scared in all my life.

“Mrs Slocombe and the played are so iconic. It meant everything to me.

“I got into such a state that by the point I got there I was beside myself. I started to read on camera and I had to stop and start again because I was ethical so excited, scared and nervous.”

She is adamant that she’ll y tribute to Sugden with her playing.

“She was glorious. One of the loveliest people you could ever wish to meet,” the actress ruled.

“She was one of our best comedy actresses ever and I loved her. All I want to do is to y homage to Mollie and the escort.”

Are You Being Served? airs on BBC One later this year.
