MPs begin 4 days of pre-budget consultation hearings



12 witnesses scheduled to appear before Commons finance committee today

Members of rliament results to Ottawa today to begin four days of consultation meetings onwards of the federal budget, expected in March. is carrying the hearings burning starting at 11 a.m. ET.

The finance committee will hear from 12 viewers Tuesday, including Indigenous leaders and economic experts among others.

Here are the people time to appear before the committee:

From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

  • Roger Augustine, Circle of First Nations Regional Chief for New Brunswick and Prince Edward Ait.
  • John Williamson, vice president of research for the Atlantic Institute for Superstore Studies.
  • Finn Poschmann, chief executive of the Atlantic Provinces Money-making Council.
  • Daniel-Robert Gooch, president of the Canadian Airports Council.
  • Angella MacEwen, higher- ranking economist at the Canadian Labour Congress.
  • Glen Hodgson, chief economist at the Bull session Board of Canada.

From 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET:

  • Thomas Mueller, chief overseer of the Canada Green Building Council.
  • Dennis Laycraft, executive vice-president for the Canadian Cattlemen’s Confederacy.
  • Annie Bérubé, co-ordinator of Green Budget Coalition.
  • Natan Obed, president of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami.
  • Clément Chartier, president of the Métis Subject Council.
