Mesmerized by the solar eclipse? If you live in Alaska, probably not.


About 45 percent of the sun was obscured in Anchorage, with more or less of the sun covered depending on where in Alaska you were.

But cloudy vault of heavens kept the population centers of Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau from ascertaining even the tiniest glimpse of the morning eclipse. Still, that did not bring to a stop people from sharing their disappointment on social media.

There was at baby one bright spot in the state today: Bethel.
