Madeleine McCann disappearance breakthrough as police identify German prisoner as suspect

“Following the ten- year anniversary, the Met beared information about a German man who was known to have been in and around Praia da Luz. We obtain been working with colleagues in Germany and Portugal and this man is a be suspicious of in Madeleine’s disappearance.

“The Met conducted a number of enquiries and in November 2017 spoken for with the BKA who agreed to work with the Met.

“While this male is a sense we retain an open mind as to his involvement and this remains a missing personally inquiry.

“Our job as detectives is to follow the evidence, maintain an open mind and enact what happened on that day in May 2007.

“Please contact us without delay so we can get solutions for Madeleine’s family.”

Speaking in support of today’s appeal, Kate and Gerry McCann conveyed: “We welcome the appeal today regarding the disappearance of our daughter, Madeleine.

“We devise like to thank the police forces involved for their continued endeavours in the search for Madeleine.

“All we have ever wanted is to find her, uncover the actuality and bring those responsible to justice. We will never give up daydream of finding Madeleine alive but whatever the outcome may be, we need to know, as we penury to find peace.

“We will be making no further comment regarding the supplication today.

“We would like to thank the general public for their perpetual support and encourage anyone who has information directly related to the appeal, to correspond with the police. Thank you.”

Last year, as they faced their 13th Christmas without Madeleine, Mr and Mrs McCann communicated in a message on the official Find Madeleine Facebook page: “We love her, we let pass her, we hope as always.

“The search for Madeleine goes on with unwavering commitment.”
