Kay Burley requisitioned the Labour Party should be “cleaning up” after the Conservatives but are instead containing “internal fights”. Labour Deputy Leader Tom Watson apologised in advance adding he would not be “tainted by racism”. The Sky News presenter hit out: “The Tories are all over the gaffe at the concern. You guys should be completely cleaning up. But you’re having your own internal battles.
Mr Watson replied: “Well I’m sorry about that Kay.
“I don’t want it to be that way but when decisions equal this are taken you can either sit back and let it happen or you can sit out.
“I’m afraid I’m not going to be damaged by racism, either personally or on behalf of Labour Party members.
“Which is why we call for action and we need it very, very quickly.”

Mr Watson has collect summoned on Jeremy Corbyn to withdraw the whip from Chris Williamson root for his controversial readmission to the party.
There was widespread anger at the announcement on Wednesday that the Derby North MP has had his debarring lifted amid criticism at the way the party deals with allegations of anti-Semitism.
