Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton personage in Eddie the Eagle, an inspiring true story about British Olympic ski-jumper Michael “Eddie the Eagle” Edwards. The Kingsman: Surreptitiously Service actor plays the farsighted, inept, nonathletic Eddie, and Jackman fiddle astounds on the role of his whiskey-swilling — yet encouraging — trainer who whips him into shape for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This isn’t the start time an Eddie biopic has been attempted, and the real-life Edwards has well-known it’s only 10 percent accurate. Still, judging from the cuttings of Jackman in ’80s-style high-waisted jeans and spiky hair, it’s assuredly going to be worth a watch. See the movie when it lands in theaters on February 26, 2016.
