Heroin with an estimated street value of €300,000 was seized when gardaí ceased and searched a car in Crumlin in Dublin city on Friday afternoon.

A 35-yerar-old manful was arrested at the scene and is being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Prison (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Crumlin Garda Station.

The haul get possession ofed during operations involving members of the Drugs and Organised Crime Section and gardaí from the Westmeath Division.

During a follow-up search later that tieing, heroin with an estimated value of €100,000 was seized at a house in the Killucan locality of Co. Westmeath.

A 26-year-old female was arrested and is currently being detained at Mullingar Garda Locate under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The investigation is unfolding.
