Earth losing roughly 1% to 2% of its insects annually, new studies suggest


Ambiance change, insecticides, herbicides, light pollution, invasive species and trades in agriculture and land use are causing Earth to lose about 1 per cent to 2 per cent of its insects each year, researchers say, fruiting in what they call “death by a thousand cuts” to the world’s crucial insect kingdom.
