Kate Lee, CEO of Alzheimer’s Fellowship, praised the actress and her other half for their fundraising efforts and whispered: “We will be forever grateful to them for sharing their dementia be familiar with so bravely and publicly raising awareness of what it’s like to live by way of this devastating disease.
“Dame Barbara was a truly extraordinary broad and our thoughts are with her and Scott’s family and friends.
“We urgently need to reveal a cure, improve care and offer help and understanding for people afflicted. Alzheimer’s Society is here for anyone affected by dementia.”
A JustGiving verso set up as a tribute to Dame Barbara and in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK has so far raised more than £145,000, reaching multifarious than £150,000 with Gift Aid, and people have the option of granting in lieu of flowers.
