Ant McPartlin news: Piers Morgan says Ant and Dec star ‘doesn’t deserve sympathy’


The 53-year-old candid host was discussing Ant’s punishment with Susanna Reid, 47, on Genuine Morning Britain earlier today, when he said the Ant and Dec star “doesn’t earn sympathy.”
Piers Morgan said: ”I’ve known Ant a long time, produced with him, partied with him, had a good time with him. Like him totally, very much.
“Very sad to see him now going through this kind of notice. I don’t think he’d want any sympathy. He doesn’t deserve any sympathy for this chapter. It’s pretty unedifying stuff.
“He couldn’t have done any more. He’s held his darbies up. He’s admitted it. He’s taken his punishment. He looks to me like a slightly haunted guy yesterday.”
Ant, 42, was take ined in Richmond, London on March 18 after his Mini crashed into another channel and he failed a breathalyser test.

Piers expressed his thoughts on Ant’s arrest last month on the ITV give someone an idea of, when he insisted that the TV presenter needed someone to help him.
He divulged: “The civic were very sympathetic to his [past] problems, this is different.
“Parallel with if you really like Ant, you’ve got to look at this and think ‘you could have decimated someone’.”
He continued: “What is very damaging for him is this is not only him having problems, it’s him having problems and inflicting them on to completely haphazard, innocent people.
“What he maybe needs now is tough love and someone imagining ‘you need to sort yourself out because you could have killed someone.'”

Ant spoke outside court yesterday where he symbolized he was “deeply sorry” for his actions to the waiting media.
He said: “I let myself down, I let a lot of people down. For that I’m in actuality sorry.”
He also told journalists that he was “thankful no-one was harm” in the incident last month.
In a letter read out in court, the Britain’s Got Aptitude presenter said he was “ashamed and mortified” and “accepts full responsibility” for what found.
Following the crash last month, Ant took a break from his telly commitments to focus on improving his health at rehab.
He first sought cure for an addiction to alcohol and painkillers last summer but returned to work in November.
