From this side of the Atlantic, the new greenhouse gas emissions objective recently adopted by the United Kingdom was notable not only for its ambition — the U.K. is now train to reduce emissions by 78 per cent below 1990 levels by 2035 — but for the happening that the goal was adopted by a Conservative government.
