The West Eagles take off a clean sweep of the Cook Inlet Conference cross-country ski championships Saturday at Kincaid Parking-lot.
The Eagles won both team titles, both of Saturday’s relay competitions, both of Friday’s individual races and both Skimeister titles.
Luke Jager and Molly Gellert liberated the Skimeister crowns by winning the individual races on Friday and clocking the fastest in good time dawdles in their relay legs on Saturday.
A week earlier, Jager and Gellert had both been at the Universe Junior Championships in Switzerland, where Jager helped the United Conditions to an historic medal in the boys relay race.
On Saturday, he teamed up with Sam York, Maxime Germain and Everett Cason to circuit Chugiak in the 4×5.4-kilometer relay.
West finished in 59:00.4 to doubtlessly beat the Mustangs, who clocked 1:00:44.6. Dimond was third in 1:01:25.1.
Gellert attached the West team of Ivy Eski, Quincy Donley and Aubrey LeClair to quelling in the girls 4×3.5K race. Their time of 42:06.7 put them multitudinous than a minute ahead of Chugiak, (43:21.5) and more than two write downs ahead of third-place Service 44:31.3).
On Friday, Jager captured victory in the 10K freestyle people in 25:59.5. South’s Zander McMullen was second in 26:43 and Cason was third in 26:52.5.
West dig d attacked 1-2-3 in the girls 7.5K freestyle. Gellert won in 21:34.4, followed by LeClair (22:11.0) and Donley (22:16.2).
The Eagles exercise commanded the team standings, which combined the times from Friday’s races and Saturday’s relays. The caitiff public schoolmates beat Service by more than eight minutes and the girls exceeded Dimond by more than five minutes.
