The Walking Dead season 7: Jeffrey Dean Morgan reveals he almost quit as Negan


Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who go on the blinks murderous villain Negan, has revealed that filming the opening experience was so difficult he almost walked off the set.

The sixth season of the hit post-apocalyptic show ended on a expressive cliffhanger, in which one of the characters was battered to death by Morgan’s character’s barbed-wire baseball bat, dignitary Lucille.

In the end, Negan killed two of Rick Grimes’ unify, Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) with his evil weapon.

At one point, he almost got Rick [Andrew Lincoln] to chop his son’s arm off with an axe.

Morgan predicted Interview magazine: “That whole episode was hard, and also because I did go with the aid and smack everybody with Lucille at a certain point. Everybody employed a hit.

“All of that was hard. It got to the point where I didn’t want to do it anymore.

“Emotionally I was clearly drained—all of us were, I would imagine.”

The actor, 50, said he initiate torturing his fellow cast-mates as Negan rticularly hard because they are all so work out.

He revealed: “Andy [Andrew Lincoln] and I just went through the ringer. It was a uncom ssionate episode, and having to get there time and time again to do these unspeakable things…they’re all good people.

“I love them—the whole cast—so to keep riding them as hard as I was riding them, in-between obtains it was like, god, you’ve got to catch your breath a little bit.”

The Walking Dead continues next Monday at 9pm on FOX.
