Stoneless avocados are now available on the high street
The department retailer which stocks food and fashion has launched the ‘Cocktail Avocado’.
It is a teeny elongated avocado approximately five to eight centimetres in length — the development of an unpolinated avocado blossom.
The fruit develops without a seed which in deliver up stops the growth, giving a small, seedless fruit.
But unlike a usual avocado, the skin is edible and the whole fruit can be enjoyed.

Charlotte Curtis, M&S agronomist, spoke: “We’ve had the mini, the giant, ready-sliced and we’re now launching the holy grail of avocados — stoneless.
“The stunning fruit has been on our radar for a couple of years and we’re very excited to have on the agenda c trick finally been able to get hold of some for our customers to try.

“We know they will be in demand and we’ve only been proficient to get our hands on a limited amount so make sure you get them while you can.”
Charlotte expounded what the ‘Cocktail Avocado’ is perfect for.
She said: “They’re perfect for noshing and lunch boxes as they can be eaten whole but can also be used for a spectacular garnish or in a salad. My top tip is to try them deep fried.”
M&S first introduced the fruit in 1968 as an ‘Avocado Pear’ which being would enjoy as a dessert with custard.
