The Crown season 2: Matt Smith SHOCKS with bearded new look as Prince Philip

Along with tip offs of what’s to come from Britain’s Royal Family, fans were care for to shots of Prince Philip’s (played by Matt Smith) new look as he was seen make a laughing-stock of a full beard.

The new facial hair marks quite a change for the stately, who was previously clean-shaven for season one.

In the season two trailer, Philip is seen intimidating on a boat with other sailors as he gazes out to sea. 

Another shot shows Queen Elizabeth (Claire Foy) beaming lovingly as she watches a home video of her husband which again knows him with a hirsute look.

Despite his new fulsome beard and moustache, sentiments appear to be stormy in his marriage to the Queen and there are hints at betrayal. 

Philip is understood telling her — minus the beard — in one scene: “There are some of us who are here for you no occurrence what.”

However, the Queen is far from impressed as she angrily tells her spouse: “If sole!” 

Season two of The Crown will focus in on Elizabeth’s marriage as it teeters on the border of collapse as she strives to do everything in her power to protect the British monarchy.

In the meantime, her younger sister Princess Margaret (Vanessa Kirby) is clearly unstationary on from the heartbreak of season one as she poses for photographs.

As history goes, the real Princess Margaret went on to unify photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones, who is presumably supposed to be the man in the trailer. 

Season two will-power mark the last for Foy and Smith, who will be departing their roles and be superseded by older actors to continue the story of the House of Windsor. 

The Crown mellow 2 will drop on Netflix on December 8.
