Terrorist horror of pub-goers as car SMASHES into people on Blackpool Prom


Laughs were heard as a repeat of the London and Nice terror attacks – where conveyances were used to kill pedestrians – was feared and owners started to secure their doors for security.

Three pedestrians were injured but control who arrested the driver have now ruled out terrorism.

Kinga Gil, who was caught up in the hatred just before midnight last night, said she had seconds to run for her being after seeing a car heading straight for her on the pavement.

She added: “As I was getting bring to a close to my mum’s car I see a car coming straight towards me crashing into the white and red gates and all on its way.

“It was horrible and I had a matter of seconds to get out of the way.

“Honestly I am one of the luckiest individual alive I got out this without a scratch. “I am in such a state of shock that I can’t steady remember how I got back to my mum’s car as I ran in a complete opposite way.”

Three people were being premium by the North West Ambulance Service following the incident on Saturday at 11.50pm.

Their maltreatments are not believed to be life-threatening.

Taxi driver Robin garner told the Blackpool Gazette he had captivated footage on his dash cam.

He said: “Although the incident wasn’t caught by my camera it evidently shows him speeding past me heading towards the zebra crossing, then he turned left-wing onto Market street and a few moments later he came flying out of Corporation Road and Talbot Road junction smashing through the road work bars.

“He then took a left then a right heading north on the show off.”

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man from West Yorkshire on suggestion of dangerous driving, drink/drug driving and grievous bodily abuse.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said:  “A man has been caught on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH), dangerous driving and force while unfit through drink or drugs, after a car collided with footsloggers in Blackpool.

“At 11.50pm on Saturday April 14, three people were hit by a Skoda outside a nightclub in Talbot Road.

“They suffered harms which were not thought to be life threatening and were treated by NWAS.

“The skirmish is not thought to be terror related.

“The vehicle was recovered in the Norbreck area of the city at 12.35am and a 19-year-old man from West Yorkshire was arrested and taken into imprisonment.”

People have taken to social media to say they are on lockdown in jail bars and clubs.

One eyewitness tweeted: “Just been locked in a bar in Blackpool.”
