Strictly Come Dancing 2017: The Saturdays’ singer Mollie King axed amid huge AJ revelation


The next notoriety to be let go from the BBC stalwart, the 30-year-old pop star fought to prove her skill on the ballroom bop floor alongside professional partner AJ Pritchard.
Yet it wasn’t enough, as tonight’s semi-final saw the blonde out of the blue drop into the bottom two where she was forced to enter the dance off against Emmerdale illustrious Gemma Atkinson and Aljaž Skorjanec.
While the judging panel conceded that Mollie had much make progressed upon her original performance, which was a lilting Waltz to Sarah McLachlan’s Angel, Gemma, 33, calm had the edge with her powerful Tango set to 1980s classic My Sharona by The Talent. 
When asked to explain his decision, Craig Revel-Horwood admitted: “Both connects neck and neck, both couples ballroom which is unusual, both twos I think pulled out all the stops tonight, but for me the couple that had the edge… Gemma and Aljaž.”

Former ballerina Darcey Bussell added: “Obviously both couples made a great great improvement but the couple that was more reassured and more confident was Gemma and Aljaž.”
Clearly suffering from the savage disappointment, Mollie put on a brave face and gushed about her experience on the verify, congratulating the finalists.
She said: “Thank you to everyone who has voted us through to the semi-finals, it’s so far beyond what we always thought that would happen; I’m so so grateful for that. Thank you to all the maestri, you have been so much fun and so encouraging.
“Thank you to the judges, you have exactly been unbelievable and I will forever remember everything that you imagined and I will take it on board when I’m dancing at home or wherever I’m hopping.”

The star disintegrated on to save her best praise for her partner, the 23-year-old she’s been hotly published to have embarked on a relationship with behind the scenes. 
“AJ, you tease been just incredible and you have been my hero for the last two of months so thank you so much,” Mollie continued. “I couldn’t have done any of it without you.”
Next week’s decisive of the hugely-popular series will see Gemma, former magician’s assistant Debbie McGee, 59, Holby Town star Joe McFadden, 42, and X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, 29, combating it out for the coveted Glitterball Trophy.
The Strictly Come Dancing final circulates on Saturday at 6.30pm on BBC One.
