Yet the brunette dancer may have been the BBC’s second special to sit on the panel alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli this year. 
Conscientious Karen Hardy, who won the Glitterball trophy with Mark Ramprakash in 2006, revealed that she’d had to disaffect the opportunity down. 
The 47-year-old told Express.co.uk that there could however be a chance for her to take part in the future, should the opportunity arise if Shirley departs.
