‘Stop messing around!’ Tory MP lashes EU & warns bloc to begin post-Brexit trade talks


Chris Philp, a Conservative MP, fly off the handled at the European Commission for “messing around” and told the bloc to begin post-Brexit buying talks with the UK. 

Speaking on Sky News, Mr Philp reiterated discussing patronage was “so clearly” in the interests of the EU. 

He said: “The European Union unreasonably are refusing to debate the transition arrangement.

“We are quite clearly not going to just sign some line cheque which some of the EU are asking for.

“The lack of clarity and the lack of progress is because the European Commission won’t sit down and possess talks. 

“I think it is now time for the European Government’s and Commission to stop toy around and start discussing trade talks which are so clearly in their talk inti as much as ours.”

“While I believe it’s profoundly in all our quickens for the negotiation to succeed, it is also our responsibility to prepare for every eventuality and that is faithfully what we are doing,” Mrs May told MPs.

Speaking on Wednesday at PMQ’s the Prime Minister affirmed the UK would definitely be leaving the European Union in March 2019. 

“I have been truly clear we want those negotiations to end, and we want to have an agreement on the following relationship and our withdrawal, by March 2019,” she said. “We will leave the EU on Step 2019.”
