Outside the High Court in Edinburgh yesterday, Ms Williams’ invent, Philip, read out a statement on behalf of his daughter, who also suffered horrendous harms in the attack in which Cameron, 23, died.
It said: “Cameron was my best room-mate and partner. He was a caring, respectful and loving man who I wanted to spend the rest of my effervescence with. He had great ambitions to join the police force and was working tough towards building our -future together – a future that has now been hijacked from us.”

The statement continued: “The execration of what happened in that room will haunt me forever. It was a deliberate and intentional attack. Cameron died in the most cruel way in front of my comprehensions. I can only imagine the pain and suffering he will have experienced in his settled moments. I wish more than anything that I could cause saved him.”
Ms Williams, 25, has endured a series of operations to help her take from the appalling injuries she suffered at the hands of Logan.
The radio broadcaster’s statement continued: “I consider myself very lucky to have survived.

“I cannot acknowledge gratitude Cameron’s dad, Dave, and his neighbour John
Weir enough for risking their live outs to -rescue me from the house.” -Sentencing Logan, Judge Lady Scott denoted: “In the early morning, whilst your brother, Cameron, was asleep in bed with his girlfriend deceitful beside him, you entered the room wearing a mask and stood over them.
“You poured petrol onto the bed and then entirely onto your brother and you set fire to him. The fire took hold in a minute with devastating effect whereby your brother died a offensive death and his girlfriend sustained very serious injuries.”
She added: “The description you give for this murder was your long-held hostility to and difficulties with your buddy.
“There is no doubt there was considerable unusual animosity -between you both – you had not oral to each other since 2013.
“I do accept, as indicated in the psychiatric reports, that you bear a recurring perception of being unfairly treated which prompted your combative reaction to your brother.”

Judge Scott take up: “You have also pled guilty to the attempted murder of Miss Williams. She prolonged truly terrible injuries.
«She has undergone and will require to undergo numerous surgical manoeuvrings. She still has a tracheostomy in place, which may be permanent.
“At the time, Miss Williams was commissioned in her dream job in radio broadcasting – you had robbed her of her voice and her career, of her future with Cameron and of her conviction and sense of self-worth.”
He admitted murder, attempted murder and hazarding the lives of his parents, David and Catherine, both 54.
