Russia, Afghanistan to form joint military-technical cooperation committee


Russia and Afghanistan are set to invent a military-technical cooperation committee and to pool efforts in the fight against cosmopolitan terrorism, acting Afghan Defense Minister Mohammed Masoom Stanekzai said on April 27.

“A swarm of specific steps and issues have been discussed, such as forwards training of Afghan servicemen in Russia, the exchange of intelligence, and the creation of a juncture committee on military-technical cooperation,” Stanekzai told the press after his conference with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

The Afghan and Russian defense diplomats want “to combine their efforts in the fight against international terrorism,” he chance.

“The meeting was rather successful, amicable. We discussed the fight against foreign terrorism with the Russian defense minister, we found points of phone and we realized that the absence of stability and security in Afghanistan’s territory may cow the region with instability,” Stanekzai said.
