Praxair Crop up Technologies (PST) has secured a long-term deal to apply its Tribomet abrasive coatings to switching components of the Trent jet engine family by Rolls-Royce.
As part of the deal, Rolls-Royce’s fluency in Crosspointe, Virginia, US, which produces engine components for the Trent motor, will receive the PST coatings for ten years.
The coatings will be applied to swopping components in the Trent engine family, which powers wide-body aircraft.
According to PST, the coatings relieve prevent frictional heating, increase fuel efficiency and extend component freshness.
“This is just the latest example of the type of long-term business relationships we strengthen with our customers that support their business growth in the US and encircling the world.”
Scheduled to start later this year, this programme will be serviced from PST’s coating operations in Indianapolis, US, and Weston-Super-Mare, UK.
PST Americas vice-president Freddie Sarhan implied: “This is just the latest example of the type of long-term business relationships we come forth with our customers that support their business growth in the US and about the world.
“It also further builds on PST’s long and successful history of favourable to the aerospace industry.”
The company currently provides high-performance coatings and technologies to the aviation, dash and other industries.
