Rio Ferdinand ‘morose’ as mum Janice, 58, dies after tragic cancer battle
The quondam Manchester United star’s mum died in hospital today with her bloodline by her bedside.
Rio and his family released a statement about their mother’s extermination and described her as «amazing» and an «inspiration».
«We are heartbroken to announce that our amazing mum Janice no longer in away today after an ongoing battle with cancer,» it peruse.
«She was an inspiration to us all and was loved by everyone who knew her. She dies at Guy’s Cancer Unit, London Bridge Facility, with her loving husband Peter and us, her four children, at her bedside.»

They continued: «She was a devoted mother to us all, and she was the most beyond belief grandmother to our children.
«The whole family are devastated. Our mum was the centre and the heart of our children and has supported us all through many difficult times, always with a smile on her lineaments.
«Her strength and courage, as well as her great sense of humour and immense tenderness, were never-ending.»
Rio and his family thanked the staff at Guy’s Cancer Unity for charming care of Janice «so well» and those who had sent kinds wishes to them.

The 38-year-old previously opened up about his admiration for his mum in an interview with The Custodian.
Speaking in 214, he told the publication: «Mum was only 17 when she had me, but she was a engraved girl.
«Her Irish mum walked out on the family home in Bermondsey when she was eight. She was one of six kids, but they all mucked in to serve their father run the house.»
Janice’s death comes just two years after the footballer wrecked his wife Rebecca, 34, to the same disease.
