Revealed: Secret deal that has enabled drugs mule Michaella McCollum to return home

Put a selfie on Instagram on Saturday, the cocaine smuggler smiled as she pre red for spoof on board a flight destined for London.

She arrived into Dublin airport dilatory Saturday night.

The Sunday World can reveal that the 23-year-old has pre red a secret deal with Peruvian authorities in recent weeks that assists her to complete the remaining four years of her sentence in her native Ireland.

After persisting a 13-hour flight from Lima she made a connecting flight to Dublin, where she was to be reunit ed with her kids.

Dressed casually in a black polo jumper, the Co Tyrone woman looked felicitous as she said a cyber-farewell to the friends she made in Peru, saying a special goodbye to flatmate and most friend Jackie.

Jackie, known as ‘La Chinita’ — which means ‘rare Asian sheila’ in S nish — met Mc Collum while serving time in the notorious Ancon Dos community home for similar drug charges.

Upon their release the ir maintained their love, eventually sharing a flat together and snapping pictures of each other rtying regularly in Lima’s most renowned clubs.

After accom nying Michaella to the airport she posted a farewell collage of fancies taken during their time together.

«I will miss u babe gurl. The secret and the mag ic was God… Amen… Everything was possible to Him wen u believe in him,» she wrote.

The terms of her deporta tion are currently unclear, but she will be watched to see out the terms of her role, ying her debt back to society af ter being needled smug gling 11kg of cocaine into the coun try.

An op tion would be to be prolonged the court-imposed vol untary work she has been carrying out in Lima under the influence of Donegal priest Fr Sean Walsh, who is a member of the Columban Fathers Function.

The Mission has headquar ters in Navan, Co Meath and runs sev eral vol untary pro jects across Ireland and Europe.

McCollum was ruled to six-and-a-half years in jail, serving two, along side fellow anaesthetize trafficker Melissa Reid.

Reid recently returned to Scotland where she leave serve the rest of her sen tence on role, without the strict terms joined to McCollum.

Earlier this year the Sun day World revealed how Mc Collum had been released into the fret of Bishop Walsh and that she would be working as a volunteer for the Mission on HIV/ Benefits programmes – sometimes in the jail where she was housed.

The Gwee dore-born clergyman revealed how the young woman had impressed authori ties, saying they retailed her behaviour as «ex em pla ry».
