OJ Simpson parole hearing: Disgraced American footballer will walk FREE in October

The former sporting star turned actor today appeared ahead a US parole board to agree to his release from prison.

Simpson has completed almost nine years of a maximum 33-year sentence for armed ripping-off and kidnapping at a Las Vegas Hotel in 2008.

In a shocking move, the board today let his application for parole — meaning Simpson will walk free from bridewell on 1 October.

The former NFL star explained at the perceiving today that he was contacted by a man who offered photographs of sports memorabilia that he straightaway recognized as personal belongings, including his mother’s photo album and spits of his children.

He spoiled on to say he believed that his initiative with the Baptist prayer group and job as commissioner of an 18-team softball league compensates for the exprience he may have had in AA.

And he added: “I’m not a guy who has disputes on the street. I’m a guy who’s got along with just about everybody.”

In the closing remarks, Simpson’s solicitor explains one of the victims of the robbery, Alfred Beardsley, who has since passed away, had earned peace with Simpson following the robbery.

He said: “I’m not here just as his friend of almost 27 years because that I am but today I am also appearing as the sufferer of a crime on September 13 of 2007.

“A lot of things happened very speedily and unfortunately if OJ had just said everyone out of here none of this wanted to happen.

“It is true items in that room belong to OJ but it is also constant I have never stolen from OJ. It wasn’t me. OJ is my friend, always has been and I await will remain my friend.

“OJ never held a gun on me. There was a coward in that range. Came up, gangster style, acting like a big man. 

“Another man came in, hit me — not OJ. He not in any degree laid a hand on me.”

He went on to say that “we all make mistakes” but said OJ Simpson has “been an instance to others” in prison.

Arnelle Simpson, the defendent’s daughter, also manifested before the hearing to call for her father’s early release.

She said: «We scarcely want him to come home. I know that he is truly remorseful. We justified want him to come home so we can move forward, quietly, for us.

«He did not make the promising decision on the day. He made the wrong wrong decision at the wrong time.»


OJ Simpson was jailed in October 2008
