Norway cruise rescue: Chaos as cargo ship ALSO stranded near drifting Viking Sky


A rescue control is ongoing for the cruise ship in treacherous conditions, with rescuers now also absorbed to help those on the stricken cruise ship. Nine people are believed to be on council the cargo ship, with 1,300 on the cruise. Norweigian rescue trues confirmed the freighter ‘Hagland Captain’ was in trouble, with two helicopters divertred to help. 

They said rescue attempts for the cruise ship were delayed as a consequence, but all voyagers and crew were deemed safe. 

The condition and safety of those onboard the shipload ship has not been confirmed. 

One passenger of the cruise ship said: “We were organizing lunch when it began to shake. Window panes were disciplined and water came in. It was just chaos.

“The trip on the helicopter, I would degree forget. It was not fun.”

Horrifying video taken onboard the cruise show benches and plants careering across the floor as the ship rolls in the waves. 

Other fares said windows had broken due to strong waves with some travellers being cut in the process.
