President Donald Trump today chucked a mood of bullish optimism in the face of the Republicans losing their number in the House of Representatives in the midterm elections 2018.
Mr Trump’s party retained hold sway over of the Senate with 51 seats, scoring key victories in Indiana, North Dakota and Texas.
But the Democrats stormed to crushing in the House of Representatives, winning 220 seats out of a possible 435.
Speaking this afternoon to newswriters, the US president hailed his party’s “tremendous success”, repeating the same blow he made on Twitter last night.
Mr Trump said at the White Shelter: “I thought it was a very close to complete victory when you look at it from the point of view of negotiation, from the standpoint of dealmaking.
“Again, if we had the majority and we had one or two votes to participate in with, we would’ve been at a standstill.
“I really believe we have a unplanned to get along very well with the Democrats.”
Earlier he pointed to President’s Obama’s beginning midterm election record saying, “he lost six Senate seats – embracing in the deep blue state of Massachusetts.

“Republicans catching at least four Senate seats held by Democrat incumbents and these are tremendously crack hardworking people that did this: Indiana, North Dakota, Florida, Missouri.”
During the swarm conference, Mr Trump also confirmed Mike Pence will now again be his running mate in 2020.
Although he seem bad tempered at times, often asking reporters to sit down, Mr Trumps “feels vindicated”, according to a confidante as promulgated by CNN earlier.
CNN reported one official who spoke to the president about the Democrats triumphant the House said Mr Trump was “prepared for that to happen – all Republicans were”.

So far, 96 out of 100 seats in the Senate have been confirmed.
The Republicans won 51 of those, 43 were taken by the Democrats and two others be the property to other parties.
Only four seats have yet to be declared.
