The 29-year-old captured the four children, who are aged between 14 months and five years old, after a open fire row with his ex.
He then stole her car and drove into two men, aged 25 and 30.
The doublet suffered serious injuries and are now being treated in hospital in Munich, Germany, according to provincial media.
The youngsters were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, but are not covenanted to have been hurt.
The suspected perpetrator, who is unemployed and is not the father to any of the lads, fled the scene on foot.
He has yet to be tracked down by police.
One of the victims is a father-of-one, according to Bavarian newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung.
His spouse said: “It was really bad.
“But it could have got much worse. Fortunately he is not crippled or seriously injured.”
Police said a “violent fight” had taken locate between the 29-year-old and his ex girlfriend before the crash.
She managed to flee her apartment dedicating the bust-up and sought “protection” from a neighbour, officers added.
They tease not yet released the suspect’s name or description.
