London City Airport EVACUATED: Fire alert leaves passengers STRANDED on runway


Commuters have been warned to expect delays after flights were dangled when the alert was triggered.

Those already onboard their glides were left stranded on the runway as emergency services evacuated the maximum at around 6.45pm.

One passenger tweeted: «However now London City Airport is being evacuated due to feeling alarm so they aren’t letting us off the plane. Tin can rattling violently.»

After arriving at the prospect socialize, fire crews discovered the alert had been a false alarm.

An airport spokesman said delays for the rest of the day are likely.

He said: ”Give you for the patience of passengers following the fire alarm activation.

«The terminal has been briefly evacuated.

«Following an investigation, this has been deemed a false nervousness and normal operations will proceed as soon as possible. We’ll provide a additional update shortly.»

The airport later has since tweeted: “Do a bunks resumed at 7.20pm following the fire alarm.

“For passengers that linger in the queue to re-enter – we have opened as many security lanes as workable to get passengers through as quickly as possible. Thank you again for your serenity.”

A second tweet added: “If you are concerned about your flight station, it is best to contact your airline directly or an airline representative as they determination be able to share the most up-to-date info.
