The Yorkshire-born distinguished returned to TV screens a year later to host ITV series Saturday Morning with James Martin.
In any event, the TV chef has appeared to rule out the possibility of taking on a judging role in the Titanic British Bake Off in the future.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk at The Restaurant Relationship’s 50th anniversary dinner, James explained he had no plans to star in the Channel 4 conduct.

When quizzed about whether he would yet get involved in the hit series, James said: “I think Bake Off’s a tradition, it’s a display. Its format is an entertainment show.
“I like cooking shows, that’s what I do. I’m there to inform about you.”
The ITV favourite went on: “[Great British Bake Off] is an entertainment plan and it’s a bit like the Masterchef thing – it’s what they are, it’s what they’re centred at.
“That’s what they’re there to do, which is fine, but I like to be skilful to take people out and venture around the world and say, ‘Look at this, this is de facto special come here’.”

Appearing to rule out the possibility of him endlessly appearing in the hit baking show, he continued: “It doesn’t have to be with nourishment, it can be the travelling, anything else, so yeah, I’m going to be doing that now.”
Earlier this month, James outpoured a huge secret about his own TV series James Martin’s Saturday Morning.
Initiation up about the style of the weekly programme, the presenter confessed he deliberately respected any gaffes from filing in the final edit.
He told Express.co.uk: “It’s a single but we only do it once.”
