Jack Wills returned profits after reducing promotions and vend more clothes at full price
The fashion retailer, which has developed from a single shop in Salcombe, Devon, in 1999 to about 90 accumulates worldwide, posted an operating profit of £730,000 in the year to January 29 weighed with a £13.8 million loss the previous year.
Sales were up 4 per cent to £142.4million.

Designer Peter Williams said: “Momentum has very much returned to the area and this is evident from the overall improvement in, and return to, profitability.
“This impetus of profit improvement is continuing through the current financial year, arrogated by our efficiency programmes and our deliberate strategy to reduce promotional activity, which improved frontier.

“Notwithstanding the tough consumer environment and focus on reducing promotions, revenue is up 4 per cent with our multichannel copy giving customers ultimate flexibility on how and where they engage with the maker.
“We are strengthening and growing our presence in the UK and overseas and today ship to a record 130 mountains worldwide.
“We are working on a number of exciting initiatives and will open an additional 10 preserves this year.”
