The 33-year-old telly broadcaster, who is expecting her second baby with rugby player bridegroom Richie Myler later this year, was worried about how enhancing a mother would change her.
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the Cumbria-born broadcaster confessed that she approached her first pregnancy with a sense of trepidation.
“I was difficult before I had him because I didn’t know how it was going to change. But actually, I didn’t recollect I’d enjoy being a mum as much,” Helen said.
She went on to say: “I was really quick-witted to get back to work after I had him but I had a lot of time off with him, so if I’m at work: great, I’m opportune, I enjoy my job. If I’m not: winner, I get to hang out with my boy. I’m not nervous because I think it is what it is.”
Her son is now a year-and-a-half-old and she is in a wink to be having her second child this spring, which she has previously predicted she will be having in her home in France.
However, she has no reservations about attractive a mother for a second time, explaining: “There’s so many things to be upset about in life. I think there’s enough in life to worry everywhere without worrying about hypothetical situations. I have a job that I similar to and I have a baby that I like and what will be will be.
“I about becoming a mum has made me a lot more relaxed about a lot of things in life. There’s no spot worrying about work especially in my job, there’s so many things I can’t put down.”
She added: “I’m not nervous about being a mum, so if I never get any work again, I’m alright with that because I with hanging out with my kids.”
Her words come as her son was asked to leave a playgroup because of his “squealing”.
Making the shock admission on Twitter last week, Helen canceled: “Worst day of my parenting life. Asked to leave after 20 mins. Yowled the place down screaming his version of ‘mama lets go!’ Constantly.”
So has she and her quiet Richie, 26, prepared their son Ernie for the new arrival? Helen rationalized: “No, we’re so unorganised as always, like every aspect of our life. But last many times we were really organised and we ended up doing a nursery out and we moved when he was three months old and he not in a million years slept in it.”
Helen is due to go on maternity leave soon and recently also converse about her plans post-pregnancy, saying she didn’t know when she longing be going back to work but revealed she wanted to take out six months to shell out with her child.
She also expressed an interest to present more of ITV’s Lorraine after she was a stand-by host for a week last year.
However, before she goes on freedom, Helen has been championing the health benefits of eggs which provender an affordable source of protein as well as being full of vitamins.
