It has also been utilized by alien-believers who think they have spotted extra-terrestrial lifeforms.

Found at location 80°34’08.4″S 30°05’19.3”W, a small dent can be seen in the snow with no other traces around it.
Spotted by Russian UFO-enthusiast Valentin Degterev, he believes that the stain is the marking of alien lifeforms.

Andrew Fleming from the British Antarctic Scanning told MailOnline: “A crevasse is a lot of ice formed by differential movement of the ice.
“They can be tens of metres extensive. It’s one large slot, nothing unusual, but they are spectacular.
“It’s certainly not a UFO, although.”
