Gillian Anderson reunites with Hannibal's Bryan Fuller for TV adaptation of American Gods


The X-Files superstar will reunite with Hannibal producer Bryan Fuller for the highly-antici ted series, based on the best-selling make-believe novel by Neil Gaiman.

Anderson will star as Media, the mediator for the New Gods, who serves as their spokesperson by taking shape as various iconic celebrities.

“She contemporaries off the attention and worship that people give to screens, to their laptops, their TVs, to their iPhones in their indicators while they watch their TV,” explained Starz media.

After reprising her scad celebrated role as FBI agent Dana Scully, the 47-year-old is currently coating the third cycle of her dark BBC drama The Fall, which is expected to appear on screens later this year.

American Divinities follows the battle between the Old Gods, lead by Ian McShane’s Mr. Wednesday, and a heretic of the New Gods, who reflect modern society’s infatuation with consumerism.

Anderson joins the likes of Emily Browning, Peter Stormare, Cloris Leachman and Orange Is the New Menacing’s blo Schreiber in the fantasy epic, which is expected to land in 2017.

Shine, who is also kickstarting a reboot of the Star Trek television series, order be taking the helm as showrunner alongside Michael Green (Heroes) and FremantleMedia North America.
