Gardai seize heroin after high-speed chase in Dublin

Policemen in Ballymun attempted to intercept a car shortly after 6.30pm on Tuesday as sacrifice of an intelligence led operation into the sale and supply of drugs in the area.

No matter how the vehicle failed to stop and gardaí followed it to the Pairc Na Cuillean in Poppintree.

At the cul de sac the incumbents abandoned the car and fled on foot.

The drugs have an an approximate street value of €56,000, substance to analysis.

A garda spokesman said: “Gardaí in Ballymun seized heroin (topic to analysis) with an estimated street value of up to €56,000 after searching a car in the Pairc Na Cuillean block at approximately 7pm last night.

“The car was earlier observed driving at speed close-fisted Bulbutcher lane. No arrests have been made and an investigation on-going.”
