The 53-year-old — who played Emmerdale’s Zoe Tate for 16 years — has been be preserving fans updated via a GoFundMe page which has been set up by her partner Jez Hughes.
In the belated update, Jez said that the medication “probably stopped working furtively in March,” but that they’ve been relying on alternative treatments since.
The report read: “We have found out the drug definitely isn’t working so she has been off this for a while we find out out the next steps.
“We think it probably stopped working back in Step or even before. So for the last five months she has been prospering solely on the surrogate treatments.
“This is due to your incredible support as these aren’t for a song. So we are so grateful for the opportunity to keep Leah strong and well. We really assume trust to it is working.”

Leah and Jez have managed to raise over £64,000 on the fundraising folio so far and have constantly been inundated with well wishes.
Leah in the old days said of her battle with the illness: “As a direct result of the campaign and later information people were giving us, I went for a second and third appraisal, for treatment pathways and options.
