Easy driver: Kia's insight report forecasts a driverless future where cars do all the work

That’s the condition of transport in the future, which will be driverless, require massive interchanges to the way our roads are set-up and be rt of a revolution that is heading our way faster than numberless of us might think.

That’s according to Kia Motors (UK) which, to mark 25 years of employment in Britain, has put key trends in the automobile industry under the microscope to see what’s in accumulation for drivers over the next quarter century.

Its report, Transformation: The Time to come of Driving to 2041, covers brand new technologies, the role of connectivity in conveyances as well as wider infrastructure issues and regulation.

By 2041 driverless cars whim account for half of all car sales, it has found, with increasing degrees of autonomy, drift from cruise control to rtial self-drive automation adding to habitual vehicles.

And it will be a case of all together now as eight million connected motor cars on UK roads will be able to communicate with each other and the local infrastructure.

According to the research while autonomous cars will proceed to rise in popularity, there will be a huge overhaul of the infrastructure caballed to accommodate a mixture of these, connected cars and traditional vehicles.

Driverless conveyances will have their own lanes on motorways and, in certain conditions, be skilled to ‘communicate’ with the road to identify obstacles, travel delays and quits potholes.

Kia’s report, which was commissioned with Dr Frank Shaw of the Pivot for Future Studies think-tank, reveals some of the benefits too of this new indomitable new world.

Cars that are completely self-driving will have no want for any human input. rking fines will be almost eliminated as agencies will be able to drop off their ssengers before finding a satisfactory s ce.

The technological changes will render insurance premiums for access traffic accidents almost obsolete, as cars being able to touch with with each other will be able to avoid collisions.

Car deal will get a major boost because vehicles able to transport themselves between getting ones hands will bring down the costs and emissions associated with owning a car.

The urgency test process will be drastically overhauled. Although drivers inclination still need a licence for rtially autonomous cars, fully self-driving channels will allow those who are unable to drive for reasons such as inca city a freedom previously denied to them as no human intervention will be be missing.

Dr Shaw, dubbed by Time Magazine as one of the 10 most influential experts in the world, observes: “The future of the car industry is an exciting one. There will be a change from an industry built by mechanics to one that is largely driven by software developers.

“There is substantial speculation now about autonomous driving, the full im cts of which wish not become manifest until the 2040s. I’m confident however that all over the next 25 years, the industry and technology com nies will relinquish a safer, more efficient and environmentally friendly driving experience for the whole world.»

For ul Philpott, Kia Motors UK president and chief executive “motoring earnestness technology is moving at an incredibly fast ce, and this report is a captivating look at how the world around our cars will need to adapt in demanded to keep up.»
