Johnny (played by Ted Reilly) has been recovering in sickbay this week after being shot by Ted Murray (Christopher Timothy) surrounded by a string of EastEnders catastrophes.
Thankfully, Johnny’s on the mend, but he left Mick (Danny Dyer) and Linda Carter (Kellie Refulgent) stunned when he revealed who really gunned him down.
Ted and Joyce (Maggie Steed) in the final analysis came clean after opening up on the pensioner’s traumatic days in the army, Johnny’s stepmothers took a drastic U-turn to sympathise with the war hero.
Just as it surfaced Ted and Joyce were off the hook, police came to whisk them away in handcuffs after uncovering indicting forensic evidence on the gun.

While viewers were in collapse over the dramatic scenes, they were more concerned helter-skelter Johnny’s name.
When the police reeled off the charges against the span, audiences were gobsmacked to hear Johnny is actually called Jonathan.
One fan wheezed: “Never knew Johnny Carter was actually a Jonathan. Love erudition something new in #EastEnders. Anything else to tell us @Ted_Reilly14?”
