Doritos foreshadowing: Chill Heatwave bags are being recalled over fears of a achievable allergy risk

PepsiCo is recalling two pack sizes of Doritos Chilli Heatwave because they accommodate milk which is not mentioned on the label. 

This means the product is a viable health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or exploit constituents. 

The company has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which settle upon tell their members about the recall, and has issued a point-of-sale identify to its customers. 

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said other products from Pepsico, which also owns Tropicana brands, Lipton teas and Quaker oats, are not recalled to be affected.

The FSA has issued the keep up with advice: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or discrimination to milk or milk constituents, do not eat it. 

“Instead please call PepsiCo’s consumer carefulness line on 0800 274777 for a full refund.” 

A spokesperson for Pepsico told the Sun Online: “Whilst the boxing does state that the chips are made in a factory which manipulates milk, the allergen is not declared on the ingredients list and therefore presents an allergen risk for exploit. 

“We take the safety and quality of our products very seriously and we are reaching out to consumers as a consequence retailers, the FSA, allergen support group networks and our own database of those phoney by allergies.” 

AllergyUK alerted Facebook followers to the issue, saying: «Out Alert! — PepsiCo is recalling two pack sizes of Doritos Chilli Heatwave.»
