The 81-year-old lyrical legend has been confirmed to be alive and well after singer Mike D’Abo, 74, aware of the crowd that she was deceased.
Fans were shocked and devastated when the Manfred Mann frontman thought that he had received a call telling him the tragic news, according to Wales Online.
One fellow of the audience recounted the moment on Twitter, saying that the audience had let out an “audible blow” at Mike’s mistaken revelation.
“Audible gasp at St. David’s Hall tonight after Manfred Mann troubadour Mike D’Abo tells audience that he took a call tonight to say that Shirley Bassey had no longer in away,” Phillip Nifield wrote. “He pays tribute and says he doesn’t discern cause of death.”

However, representatives for Dame Shirley have since reassured fans that she has not in fact passed away, telling the publication that she is utter much “alive and kicking”.
They called the rumours “completely unsound, adding that the announcement was unfair on her fans, branding it “unacceptable”.
