Coronation Street stars 'left devastated' after actress loses battle with cancer aged 46


Morag evening star in the soap in 2013 and it was revealed earlier today that she had sadly dated away on Friday, after being diagnosed with cancer five years ago.

The actress – who also famous alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in last year’s Barbican Theatre’s assembly of Hamlet – was close friends with cast members including Antony Cotton, Lee Boardman, Jennifer James and Sally Dynevor.

Sally – who is comprehended to millions of Corrie fans as Sally Webster – was quick to y tribute to Morag.

She said: “I ahead met Morag about six years ago and it came about due to us both living with chest cancer. I knew we were going to be friends instantly.

We talked nearly what we had both been going through on our first meeting and we be struck by been great friends ever since.”

She added: “We did a lot together for humanity – she was very ssionate about the work she did and cared very much involving Beechwood and Genesis.

“She made you feel you could do anything. I wish I had conscious her for longer, she was such an inspiration.

“I feel very lucky to have met her but I am sacked that she has ssed away. She was such an amazing, generous, kind domestic and a fantastic actress – just a beautiful human being.”

Former Coronation Concourse star Lee Boardman – who played drug dealer Jez Quigley – also added: “So sad to listen to of the ssing of the wonderful Morag Siller. She played my girlfriend in Ladies of Signs & was a delight. God bless you M.”

After hearing the news of Morag’s death, one yourselves posted on Twitter: “Really very sad news of the death of @MoragSiller. Such calm com ny and lovely spirit. A genuinely beautiful person. Just darned sad news.”

“Desperately sad news that Morag Siller has died. She was a in truth wonderful human being and a phenomenal actress,” another continued.
