College evacuated after ‘anonymous bomb threat’

The gendarmes were called to Middlesborough College in Teeside at 2.20pm this afternoon trail reports of a bomb threat.

An anonymous email threat was reportedly sent to workforce.

The building was evacuated and students sent home and police officers investigated the display.

A college spokesperson said an “anonymous email” had been sent to the college and as a consequence, police advised that the building should be evacuated.

Only the mere college building was cleared, with the nearby STEM Training Converge unaffected, reports Gazette Live.

The spokesperson added: “Students demand now been advised that if anyone wants to go home, they can.”

Check outs on social media from those standing outside the building advocated the evacuation was due to a bomb threat, although this has not yet been confirmed by the coppers.

Staff and students were allowed back in the building at 3:30pm.
