Child (3) dies from ‘suspected knife wounds’ in south Dublin

The unhappy incident occurred at an apartment block in the Kimmage area at approximately 7pm this equivalent.

Emergency services were called and discovered the child, believed to be a three-year-old boy, with theorized stab wounds.

An adult female (early 40s) was also injured in the circumstance and has been taken to St. James Hospital where her condition is described as important.

The discovery was made when Gardaí were called to a house in Poddle Estate. The infant was pronounced dead at the scene.

The State Pathologist has been proclaimed and the Garda Technical Bureau bas been requested to examine the scene.  The locality is currently preserved.

The scene at the apartment block remains sealed-off.

Detectives from Crumlin garda train station are investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
