He mentioned how a mob of migrants ran onto the road brandishing chainsaws and throwing Molotov cocktails at the boys in blue and ssing traffic in scenes that “resembled a war zone”.
The 53-year-old, who is an operations superintendent for the Road Haulage Association (RHA), was left covered in glass after his vanguard and back door windows were shattered.
The attack is the latest in a throw ones weight around be in control of incidents where migrants have attacked cars in a bid to block accesses and break into lorries bound for Britain.
And it is the second time bystanders have reported migrants using chainsaws during raids on the motorway centre of fears they are becoming increasingly violent in their attempts to reach the UK.
Mr Williams bring up: “I was on the pitch black approach road to the port at about 1am in the morning when there was an almighty bang to the side of my car.
“Two or three wayfarers had thrown a massive boulder that smashed my windows and damaged the bum door, driver’s door and the pillar in-between.
“Two police vans were tough to contain 50 to 60 migrants that had come onto the carriageway with chainsaws and Molotov cocktails, reject them at the trucks, the traffic and the police.
“They were chopping down trees and setting fire to them to block the road, there was no way the police could handle.
“In the middle of all this was a small family car, the occu nts were clearly distressed.
“It was something that I can lone imagine would resemble a war zone.”
Mr Williams, from Bicester in Oxfordshire, chance the incident earlier this month should be a warning to holidaymakers peak through the port.
He said: “They used to target the trucks but now it has captivated another slant, no vehicle is safe, they are doing anything they can to stanch the traffic so they can climb into stationary trucks.
“I don’t want to give one goose bumps people but with the next two weeks being peak holiday salt there will be a lot of people making their way to Calais, it’s really not a wrong families should be travelling through.
“I was covered in glass in my car, I dread to deliberate on what could have happened if there was a child in the back.
“My car is quiescent in the body shop, the cost of re ir will be £2000 to £3000 advantage the cost of a hire car.
“Unless the authorities do something soon someone devise be killed, that’s not scaremongering, it could be a lorry driver or a holidaymaker.”
Drifters from the Calais camp, which has ballooned in recent weeks to a populace of 9,000 and rising, have been trying to board vehicles to earn entry to the UK.
Earlier this week it emerged that one gang of asylum seekers had stroked a sharpened stake through the windscreen of a lorry on its way to Britain, with the driver just narrowly avoiding death.
And Mr Williams said: “Migrants are trying to get into the UK are now using identical sophisticated techniques to get into vehicles.
“The drivers are liable to y £2,000 per travelling found in their trucks – it’s a huge worry for them.
“The RHA is calling for the French military to step in, the police have been stretched to their limits with the nic attacks.
“UK-bound truck drivers are being threatened with machetes, spears and limits around their necks, these guys and girls are doing their hassles and shouldn’t have to fear being attacked.”
