The coppers have rushed to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Broward County, Florida engage in reports of a gunman on the loose.
The school had been placed on a “code red” lockdown but had no tidings on victims, a police spokeswoman said.
A source at the Broward Sheriff’s task told CNN the shooter remains at large.
Local FOX-10 TV reported that five people were noted being treated by paramedics while other students were realized walking away from the school in single file.
Some girls remain locked in their classrooms within the school building, according to local booms.

Aerial footage reveals a SWAT team, dozens of police instruments and a tank at the scene.
There are 3,208 children in grades 9—12 joined at the school.
Coral Springs Police have warned people to keep off the area.
Parkland is about 15 miles (24 km) west of Fort Lauderdale.
Heavily armed constables are at the scene and the FBI are responding
“I am in touch with a student inside the school, in hiding in a itty-bitty closet with a lot of classmates and their drama teacher,” CBS Miami support says of reported high school shooting in Florida.
“They are all okay, but they are appalled, as you can imagine.”
Parents of students at nearby schools, including Sawgrass Banks Centre School and Westglades Middle School, said they received exercise books that those campuses were locked down.
The White Business has issued a statement, saying: “The President has been made aware of the coterie shooting in Florida. We are monitoring the situation. Our thoughts and prayers are with those artificial.”
