Canada is securely becoming a popular choice for people who do not want to go to, or stay in, the US after the throw election of Donald Trump as President of the United States.
According to the FCO (Outlandish and Commonwealth Office) British Citizens usually do not need a visa to descend upon Canada for short periods of time — but all that is set to change at midnight.
After today British visitants will have to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) in order to table their flight.
For British citizens to get an eTA it will cost CAD $7 (£4.20) and they can access the visa relevancy form online.
Those who are exempt from needing an eTA include US tax yers, those with British-Canadian dual nationality and people holding a assorted, valid Canadian visa.
Applying for an eTA is quick, however, travellers are premonished not to leave it until the last minute, especially as certain requirements could avoid you from entering the country.
This includes those who have a wrong record or have ever been arrested — even if it didn’t preside over to prosecution.
Also, if you are unable show sufficient funds to support yourself during you visit in Canada when you arrive, it could mean you are sent back nursing home.
There is an exception to this new visa rule: those travelling to Canada by go down or sea do not need to apply for an eTA.
However, they will need the correct take documents, which include a valid ssport to enter the country.
